Melissa

Melissa grew up in Oregon. Having lived a hard life, which has given me a deep understanding of struggle, that’s why I connect so strongly with animals who have been forgotten, neglected, or left without help. At 18, after ageing out of foster care, I became the full-time caregiver for my mom, a role I held for 13 years until she passed away. During that time, I began rescuing animals independently, helping wherever and however I could. In 2025, I moved to Texas and officially formed this rescue as a nonprofit after seeing the overwhelming need. In our county, and in six to seven surrounding counties, there are little to no animal resources, limited veterinary access, and no safety net for stray and feral animals. This rescue exists to fill that gap. I also live with chronic illness, and caring for animals gives me purpose and strength on the hardest days. They keep me fighting, just as I fight for them. Every animal deserves compassion, safety, and a chance, and that belief is at the heart of everything we do.

Bobby

Bobby’s path has been one of trial, hardship, and strength. Overcoming hardship with humility meant confronting more than two decades spent in addiction and choosing, day after day, to do the difficult work of recovery. That work continues daily through self-reflection, accountability, and a commitment to personal growth. Rather than being defined by the past, Bobby transformed those experiences into a deeper understanding of resilience, compassion, and responsibility, recognizing that healing is not a single moment but a lifelong practice. That commitment to change led Bobby to Melissa, and together they found purpose in rescuing cats in need. What began as independent, hands-on rescue work grew into five years of experience saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals with limited resources but unwavering dedication. Eventually, this shared mission brought them to rural Texas, where they purchased a home and laid the groundwork for something larger. From that foundation, they organized a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to expand their impact—providing care not only for cats, but also for dogs and wildlife. Today, their work stands as a testament to what is possible when recovery, partnership, and service come together to create lasting change for animals and the community alike.
